The tickets have been bought, the passports have been renewed, the money saved. I've got the international driver's licence under way - it should be ready before I go. I think everything is ready to go.
I fly out of Christchurch on Monday 5 March 2007 on Emirates. It is a direct flight to Glasgow although we are stopping in Sydney, Australia arriving at Dubai 19 hours later. Another 7 hours and I will hit Glasgow about midday.
First stop will be Edinburgh to see my wonderful children.
